Show in Gibsons

Last weekend we went to Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast in a large entourage to play music at an art opening at Raquel Fors' gallery. I will post some more pictures and some live recordings soon. Not only did Red Light Monastery and Bucky Coe play, but we were joined by new members Ben Brown on drums, Meg Engel on viola, and Vi An on the ancient Chinese Guzheng (pronounced Gu-Jung or just Jung). The show was for the opening of some incredible art and the party was "epic" (not my words :) ). I am definitely going back up to Gibsons for more music and other adventures...apparently there are dreadnecks, pirates, elves, and fairies all up the coast!

Below you find details of the studio where we played and its lovely owner Raquel who, besides being a talented photographic artist, hosts all sorts of really cool events:

Featured artists: Juan Carlos Fernandez and Federico Mendez Castro from Venezuela. Both Students of the Inside Passage School of Fine Woodworking.

Juan Carlos creates optical illusions of his work that seem like three to four pieces in one, as well as awe inspiring cabinets.

Federico Mendez, through an fertility theme, brings the beauty out of a variety of woods, creating counter balanced pieces that are engaging and alterable.
